Mr. Tahir Ahmed

Mr. Tahir Ahmed is a seasoned pharmaceutical business strategist with over 25 years of demonstrated success in building iconic brands, leading organizational transformations, and driving sustained growth across Pharmaceuticals, Nutraceuticals, and Biologics. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at The Searle Company Limited, he is a well-liked leader of a team of 3,000+ professionals.

Blending academic depth with real-world insight, Tahir pursued an MPhil in Management and also holds an MBA in Pharmaceutical Business and has received executive training from prestigious institutions including Harvard Business School (Leading Change & Organizational Renewal), ITSO Tokyo, IBA Karachi, and IQVIA Malaysia. Mr Tahir has served as a visiting faculty member at IoBM and University of Karachi, teaching pharmaceutical business strategy and marketing.

Mr. Tahir is a certified Director having completed the Directors Training Program conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Mr. S. Nadeem Ahmed

Dr. Nadeem has been serving the organization successfully for the last 17 years. He has 34 years of rich experience in Pharmaceuticals & health care industry. He served the company as Chief Executive Officer from October 31st, 2015, to June 30th, 2025. He continues on Searle’s Board as an Executive Director & Senior Advisor to the Board & Management. Apart from The Searle Company Limited, he is on the Board of Directors in various Group companies including of IBL HealthCare Limited, United Brands Limited, IBL Operations Private Limited, Searle Biosciences Private Limited, Searle Pharmaceuticals Private Limited, Searle Laboratories Private Limited, Nextar Pharma Private Limited and IBL Future Technologies Private Limited.

Dr. Nadeem is actively associated at Pakistan Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Association (PPMA) forum, where he contributed on different senior positions & lead major issues of the Pharmaceutical Industry. He holds Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, graduated from the leading institute of Europe, EU Business School, Geneva Switzerland.
He has also attended various academic & executive programs from IET (London, UK), Harvard University (Boston, USA) University of Oxford, UK, Stanford University, USA, Yonsei University South Korea, in addition to that Dr. Nadeem holds Fellow status from Chartered Management Institute (CMI, Royal Charter, England), Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and Highest Award of Honor from Cyprus International University, Nicosia, Cyprus, for his outstanding contribution in Health care Industry he has nominated in 2024 by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Ambassador at large for Health care sector.

Mr. Arshad Anis   

 Arshad Anis began his career in 1976 with Imperial Chemical industries (ICI) where he served as Sales Manager for Paints from 1976 to 1982 and then as Marketing Services Manager from1982 to 1985. ICI at the time was the largest foreign investment in Pakistan involved in large scale manufacturing of polyester fiber, decorative and industrial paints, soda ash and various other industrial chemicals.

In 1985 he joined the UDL Group to set up a new company United Distributors Pakistan Ltd to establish a line of business in the Agricultural sector. He was Director & General Manager of the company from 1985 -1991 and Managing Director from 1991-1994. During this period, he developed a number of new business lines within the group and negotiated businesses with major multinationals across the globe.

Arshad Anis negotiated and set up two joint ventures with US based multinationals and was instrumental in their initial set up and operations.

Towards the end of 1994 he took over the reins of International Brands (Pvt) Limited a company of IBL Group that he served as CEO & Managing Director from October 1994 to September 1998.

In October 1998 he joined the Cupola Group as CEO for Cupola Pakistan Ltd. Cupola was a regionally focused operating Group with businesses in the Middle East and South Asia. The Group’s areas of interest included Consumer, Retail, Engineering and Information Technology. In Pakistan the Group was involved in diverse retail oriented, franchise-based businesses.

In 2004, he established AVCOM (Pvt) Limited, a marketing services company involved in the field of media marketing and related activities and served as its CEO till April 2015.

In May 2015 he rejoined the IBL Group and served as the Managing Director of IBL Operations (Pvt) Ltd and the CEO of United Brands Ltd till the beginning of 2019.

Arshad Anis has served on the Boards of several companies and is a graduate from University of Karachi from where he did his Maters in Applied Physics in 1975. He has attended several management courses in Pakistan, USA and the United Kingdom, including a senior management course at the Harvard Business School. He is a Certified Director from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Mr. Zubair Razzak Palwala

Mr. Zubair Razzak Palwala holds Masters’ degree in Business Administration (MBA). Mr. Zubair started his career with A.F. Ferguson & Co (PwC) in 1987. He has been associated with IBL Group since 1994. He currently holds the portfolio of CEO of United Brands Limited, IBL Operations (Private) Limited. He also worked as Head of First UDL Modaraba and Managing Director of United Distributors Pakistan Limited.

Besides being on the board of The Searle Company Limited, Mr. Palwala is also on the board of IBL HealthCare Limited.

Mr. Palwala also served on the board of Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited. He is also a trustee of The Caravan of Life which is a non-profit organization.

Mr. Palwala has over 30 years of experience in finance, banking and corporate affairs.

Mr. Munis Abdullah

Mr. Munis Abdullah joined International Brands Limited in the year 2007 as Business Manager handling the sales and distribution of FMCG products.

Mr. Munis Abdullah holds a Bachelor of Design degree from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture with an overall distinction and a recipient of Founder’s award.

Mr. Munis started his career from Proctor & Gamble (P&G) in 2004. He is associated with IBL Group since 2007. He is currently working as Group CEO of International Brands (Private) Limited, parent company of The Searle Company Limited. Mr. Munis is currently overseeing an organizational transformation at IBL Group which will enable IBL group to continue its growth trajectory at a rapid pace in the next decade and beyond as envisioned by the former chairman of the IBL Group, Mr. Rashid Abdulla (late) who was one of the leading businessman and entrepreneur of the country. Mr. Munis also worked in the capacity of Group Chief Human Resource Officer and oversaw a transformation process across the IBL Group companies to transform it from a family business to a professionally managed business conglomerate.

Besides being on the board of The Searle Company Limited, Mr. Munis is also on the board of IBL HealthCare Limited, United Brands Limited, IBL Operations (Private) Limited, International Brands (Private) Limited and The Citizens Foundation.

Mr. Munis has been a member of the Executive Committee and Finance and Planning Committee of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture which is a centre of excellence in providing education in the fields of fine arts, design, and architecture.

Mr. Munis has over 17 years of experience in Retail, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Health care, Distribution, and Information Technology sectors.

Mr. Munis is a certified Director having completed the Directors Training Program conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Ms. Shaista Khaliq Rehman

Ms. Shaista Khaliq Rehman completed her Bachelor of Architecture from Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in 1997. She joined Arshad Shahid Abdullah (Private) Limited as an Architect/Project Manager. Thereafter, she was appointed the Chief Operating Officer due to her interest and grasp of management aspects of processing projects. The added responsibilities of the COO position deeply involved her into Business Operations, Finance, Public Relations, Contract Administration, Office Administration and Human Resource aspects of running a Private Architectural Firm. She is also on the board of directors of The Searle Company Limited as an Independent Female Director and also chairing the Audit committee of the Company.

Ms. Ameena Saiyid 

Ms. Ameena Saiyid is a distinguished business leader, educationist and advocate of literature and cultural development. She is the Managing Director of Lightstone Publishers and the Founder and Director of the Adab Festival Pakistan. Previously, she served as the Managing Director of Oxford University Press Pakistan for approximately three decades, where she played a pivotal role in advancing educational publishing in the country.
Ms. Saiyid was the first woman in the country to lead a multinational company and the first woman to be elected President of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI).
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, literature and public service, she has been awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2005,  the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of Arts and Letters) by the Government of France in 2013, and the Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan in 2018.
Ms. Saiyid has been instrumental in promoting literary and educational initiatives in Pakistan and is the founder and co-founder of several literature festivals, including the Adab Festival Pakistan, the Children’s Literature Festival and the Teachers’ Literature Festival.
She currently serves on the boards and governing bodies of various educational, cultural and philanthropic institutions, including the Habib University Foundation, the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), the Institute of Art and Culture, Lahore, and Sindh Madrassatul Islam University. She is also Secretary General of the Jinnah Society and a Trustee of Nasra Schools and the Vicky Noon Educational Foundation, UK.
Ms. Saiyid brings extensive experience in corporate governance, leadership, education, publishing and stakeholder engagement. She previously served as Independent Director of IBL HealthCare Limited for nine years and continues to contribute significantly to the board on which she serves.
